UPDATE: The phone will sell for Rs. 5,790 in India from May 19.
Samsung’s Tizen platform for smartphones, has been well, forgetful. However, Samsung’s perseverance has kept the platform alive and the latest addition to its Tizen-powered smartphone portfolio is the Z4. Samsung says the Z4 is optimised for social media, convenience, and productivity. For instance, using combinations of physical buttons or swiping the screen will launch features like Quick Talk, Quick Torch, camera or Quick Switch without returning to the home screen.
In terms of design, the Z4 uses a 2.5D curved glass, a first in Z Series, for better one-handed grip with a textured finish at the back. Reminds us of Galaxy S II, to be honest!
The Z4 runs Tizen 3.0 and is powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz processor along with 1GB RAM. It supports Cat. 4 LTE with VoLTE support, 4.5-inch WVGA display, 5 megapixel front facing camera with LED flash, another 5 megapixel at the back with dual LED flash, Dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0, and 2050mAh battery.
As like other Tizen devices, the Z4 will go on sale in India and other select countries in black, gold and silver.
For devs, the Z4 will be showcased at the Tizen Developer Conference in San Francisco that will happen next week on May 16.
