Samsung adds music discovery app Shazam to its Smart TVs

Samsungs’ 2017 series of Smart TVs are receiving Shazam update that lets users identify songs that are playing on TV. With just a single click, the app gives access to song titles, artists, lyrics, and albums while watching TV live as well. The Shazam app can be accessed from the SmartHub of Samsung TVs. Users can also utilize voice recognition technology in the Samsung One Remote to identify songs. By speaking into the remote and asking, “What is this song?”

This service however is restricted to Samsung’s Smart Hub in Korea, the U.S., the U.K., France and Germany. Hopefully in the coming days, Samsung will extend the same to other countries.
