Samsung today announced a new TV that will most likely not fit in your living room. Dubbed as “The Wall”, it’s the world’s first modular MicroLED TV with a bezel-less design, that will allow consumers to customise the TV size of their choice. It can go as large as a wall or simply choose from the traditional screen size. Pictured here is a 146-inch TV.
This is a self-emitting TV with micrometer (µm) scale LEDs boast LEDs smaller than what is found in today’s TVs and serves as their own source of light. Moreover, each chip incorporates RGB colour that removes the need for colour filters altogether and delivers up to 2000 nits of peak brightness and true-to-life colours.
Samsung at CES is showcasing an AI-enabled 8K QLED TV along with 2018 Smart TV platform that supports Bixby, SmartThings and HDR10+.
