Samsung’s fabled foldable smartphone has been in the works for quite some time. In fact, Samsung has hinted in the past and display concepts they tend to show. Now, if ETNews’ sources are to be believed, Samsung’s foldable smartphone will go into mass production in November with an announcement slated in late 2018/early 2019. The news report says the device will use a 7.3-inch OLED panel that will fold “inwardly” that will enable the user to use it as a smartphone and a tablet.
Apparently, at the ongoing CES 2018, Samsung is showing off the display tech behind closed doors to major customers.
If you ask us, the timeline makes sense and the announcement for such a phone could make waves at the next CES or MWC. It also lines up with the tenth edition of the Galaxy S.
Samsung has been integrating curved displays into its devices for some years now and last year also showed off stretchable AMOLED display.
