Samsung announced two tablets today, the Galaxy Tab S4 and the Galaxy Tab A. The Galaxy Tab S4 is the premium tablet of the two, it comes with Samsung DeX, longer-lasting battery, and the new S Pen.
Galaxy Tab S4
The Galaxy Tab S4 is a 2-in-1 tablet. With this, Samsung debuts the DeX to the tablet that gives users to use it as a laptop. There is also a Book Cover Keyboard that is sold as an accessory. The Samsung DeX can also be extended to an external large monitor with an HDMI to USB-C port adapter. When connected, the Galaxy Tab S4 can serve as a trackpad or a sketch pad, and new this year, the Galaxy Tab S4 can continue to work as a fully functional Android tablet, giving users two screens to accomplish tasks.
The tablet features a 7300mAh battery and provides up to 16 hours of video playback as per Samsung. The Tab S4 also sports four speakers tuned by AKG and Dolby Atmos support for your movie watching pleasure. In terms of security, it has Samsung Knox. The new S Pen can be used to take notes, memos and even send texts using Samsung Live Message. The narrow bezel in the S4 makes way for a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display. It has a 16:10 screen ratio with 2560×1600 pixels resolution.
The tablet is powered by Snapdragon 850 processor, 4GB RAM and comes in two storage options of 64GB or 256GB. There are 13-megapixel and 8-megapixel cameras as well on the tablet. It supports fast charging via Type C USB port. The tablet runs on Android 8.1.
Galaxy Tab A
The Galaxy Tab A is a 10-5-inch TFT LCD screen tablet. The tablet has a 16:10 screen-to-body ratio thanks to its slimmer bezels. There are four speakers located at each corner of the tablet and supports Dolby Atmos. Galaxy Tab A is powered by Snapdragon 450 and comes with 3GB and 32GB RAM. It also supports microSD card for extended storage. The cameras are 8-megapixel and 5-megapixel. The tablet features 7300mAh battery and supports Type C USB charging.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A also provides parental controls that let you manage content and usage time with Kids Mode. This mode features Kids Browser, Galaxy Apps for Kids and eight free child-friendly apps like Toca Hair Salon 3 and BRIO World – Railway. One can also create multiple accounts on this tablet, for instance, kids and parents can have seperate accounts. This tablet also runs on Android Oreo and will come in Black, Blue and Grey colours.
The pricing and availability of these devices is yet to be known.
