Amazon India has teased the upcoming Galaxy Samsung A8 Star smartphone. Although the phone is available outside India in few countries, Samsung’s move is to take on the premium segment leader OnePlus 6 and other affordable premium phones.
The A8 Star features a 6.3-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED infinity display like the Galaxy S9. Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 660 processor, it will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. There are dual cameras at the rear, 16-megapixel and 24-megapixel. The front camera is 24-megapixel. The cameras will feature Live Focus that will allow users to manually manage the depth of field. The phone also supports UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) @30fps video recording.
The Galaxy A8 Star will also feature Bixby, Samsung’s AI assistant. The phone also come with Always-On-Display and dual-messenger feature, in case you want to use two messaging apps with two SIM cards. The battery in the phone is 3700mAh, and uses Type C USB for charging. The phone also features a 3.5-mm audio jack. The phone will retail in the Rs. 30,000 range as mentioned on the teaser page and will be available in Black and White colours. The launch date in India is yet to be announced, however, tomorrow Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note9 in India.
