Before the world could embrace 4K, Samsung has readied its 8K television and has showcased the same at IFA 2018. Samsung unveiled the QLED TV Q900R with 8K resolution and 8K AI upscaling. The Samsung QLED 8K TV will feature Real 8K Resolution, Q HDR 8K and Quantum Processor 8K. The TVs will be available in large sizes of 65-inch, 75-inch, 82-inch and 85-inch screens. o bring 8K-quality images to life. The Samsung Q900R features 4000 nit peak brightness. This feature allows the TV to produce four times more pixels than a 4K UHD TV and 16 times more pixels than a full HD TV. It also features Samsung’s proprietary 8K AI upscaling for enhancing picture and sound quality to 8K irrespective of the source quality or format. This means, content watched over a mobile mirroring, set-top box, HDMI or USB will be upscaled to 8K quality using AI.
The Q900R recognizes and analyzes a number of connected entertainment devices like audio devices connected via optical cable with one remote, then auto switches the TV’s image source and audio output for an optimized viewing experience. It also comes with Ambient mode that blends the TV in the surrounding space by showcasing beautiful images, weather, news and more.
The QLED 8K TVs will be available in stores from end of September and will vary according to regions.
