After fighting for years, Samsung and Apple have come together for something that will really benefit the consumers. Samsung has confirmed their 2018 and 2019 Smart TVs will support iTunes Movies and TV Shows app along with Apple AirPlay 2 support.
This means a Samsung Smart TV owner will soon be able to access their existing iTunes movie and TV show library or rent or buy content directly from the iTunes store. Moreover, streaming from Apple devices will be possible with Apple AirPlay 2 and will support Samsung Smart TV features like Universal Guide, the New Bixby and Search.
The iTunes Movies and TV Shows will be available as an app this spring on the 2019 range and via a firmware update to the 2018 range in more than 100 countries while the AirPlay 2 support will be available on Samsung Smart TVs in 190 countries worldwide.
