Tasting success with the Galaxy M series, Samsung today expanded its lineup with the Galaxy M40. The fourth device in the Galaxy M series, the M40 has a design similar to recent Samsung devices with a premium dual-tone finish, a sleek 7.9mm thin body and colour options of Midnight Blue and Seawater Blue.
The Galaxy M40 is also the first device outside the Galaxy S10 series to sport an Infinity-O display with a hole-punch camera on the front. The 6.3-inch FHD+ display has a contrast ratio of 1200:1, on-screen sound technology and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Delving under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 processor, 6GB RAM, hybrid SIM slot and Widevine L1 certification to stream HD videos. There’s no 3.5mm headphone jack but bundles a USB-C earphone in the sales package. At the back, there’s a triple-camera setup that includes a 32MP main camera with f/1.7 aperture, 5MP depth camera and 8MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, there’s a 16MP camera.
The Galaxy M40 has a 3500mAh battery with 15W fast charging support, face unlock and a rear fingerprint sensor.
The phone goes on sale from next week on Amazon India for Rs. 19,990. Jio and Airtel users will also get some data benefit with select plans.
