Samsung announced the rugged Galaxy Tab Active Pro in the US targetting the mobile workers of the businesses. Taking ahead from the previous year’s Tab Active2, the latest Tab Active Pro is designed for people who want to use tablet in harsh environments or in the field. Ideal for workers in industries such as manufacturing, transportation and public safety, the Tab Active Pro is durable and able to withstand excessive pressure, temperatures, vibrations and drops through military-standard certification (MIL-STD-810G). The tablet and the accompanying S Pen are IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
The Tab Activ Pro is a 10.1-inch screen device that features a 7600mAh battery that supports fast charging, a removable back panel, backup battery and even DeX support for PC-like experience. Samsung DeX can be used in two ways: Dual Mode for large monitor connectivity, or Standalone Mode, which uses a keyboard to turn the tablet into a PC workstation.
The tablet is powered by Snapdragon 670 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB storage. It supports microSD cards up to 512GB. There’s a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The tablet also has NFC capabilities to be used as a mPOS. For connectivity, it features LTE and Wi-Fi.
Other workflow capabilities include POGO pins, letting users conveniently connect and charge the tablet, or attach third-party accessories geared towards their industry. Plus, a new programmable button gives users faster access to the key business applications they need on the job.
