Samsung unveils LPDDR5X RAM for mobile devices

November 9, 2021 By kunal Leave a Comment

All major component announcements point to a new device that will feature it. Anyway, Samsung has announced a new LPDDR5X DRAM module that is designed for high-speed data processing and technologies like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and the metaverse. Yup, Samsung is already talking about the metaverse.

Based on 14nm process technology, this 16Gb LPDDR5X DRAM promise improved speeds, capacity and power efficiency. According to Samsung, it boasts data processing speeds of up to 8.5Gbps compared to LPDDR5’s 6.4Gbps and uses around 20% less power than an LPDDR5 memory. The DRAM module also supports up to 64GB per memory package, which means there’s a real possibility of a mobile device in the future having that kind of massive memory.
