Samsung has announced a new 2TB HDD targeted at high performance desktop users. The EcoGreen F3EG takes the helm from its predecessor F2EG and integrates 500GB per platter, which is capable of storing up to 880 hours of DVD videos or 500,000 MP3 songs in a power efficient manner.
Since its eco-friendly, the drive does not possess harmful materials like halogen compound and brominated flameretardant from the PCBA and utilizes 40 percent less power in idle mode or just 10 percent in reading/writing mode.
Additionally, the drives come with NoiseGuard and SilentSeek for silent operations and supports 3.0Gbps SATA interface, 16/32MB buffer memory and Native Command Queuing features.
Samsung will sell F3EG in 1.5 and 2TB capacities.
