With the launch of Galaxy S and other smartphones, Samsung is confident to widen its smartphone market share in 2010. According to Lee Donjoo, senior vice president of company’s Mobile Communications Division, Samsung is in a good position to capture more than 10 percent of the global smart phone market share.
If Samsung manages to achieve it, they would take HTC’s fourth position that recorded a market share of around 7 percent in 2009. Samsung currently has less than 5 percent market share and expects to triple smartphone shipments in this year.
Someone awoke the sleeping giant. This is going to be an interesting few years in mobile devices.
