Samsung Apps 100m milestone

Just as expected, the Samsung’s mobile application store aka the Samsung Apps has surpassed 100 million downloads. Samsung managed to achieve this feat in under a year since the application store started in June 2010 with Samsung Wave (S8500) being the first supported device.

Samsung Apps currently has 13,000 applications and is available in over 120 countries. Samsung says France, Germany and Spain account for about 40% percent of the total downloads and the most downloaded apps on the store include Magic Torch, Need for Speed Shift, Asphalt 5, London Traffic and Ndrive France.

Samsung is also holding a weekly prize draw for bada Samsung Apps users. Starting from March 25 till April 30, anyone who downloads an app from the store will be entered into the draw where they can win Samsung Apps vouchers, USB flash drives, Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Player.
