Samsung not interested in webOS

September 2, 2011 By kunal 2 Comments

Choi Gee Sung

Samsung Electronics’ CEO Choi Gee Sung has confirmed that they’re not interested in buying HP’s webOS operating system. On the sidelines of the IFA expo in Berlin, Choi said Samsung will “never” go for such a deal and “it’s not right that acquiring an operating system is becoming a fashion.” When asked about Samsung’s efforts to boost its software competitiveness, Choi confirmed they’re working “harder than people outside think.”

webOS acquisition rumor gained traction after a report by Digitmes claimed that Samsung is looking to invest in the mobile OS to compete with Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android.
