While most companies are seeking to cut on their investments and manpower, Samsung has announced its plans to make a record investment this year. The Korean giant will invest an amount of 47.8 trillion won ($41.7 billion) and recruit a whopping 26,000 new employees. Going by Samsung’s statistics, the investment will be about 12 percent higher than 2011 and 4 percent higher in terms of recruitment. Also the highest ever for the Korean chaebol.

To break the figures – Samsung will invest 31 trillion won in facilities, 3.2 trillion won towards capital and 13.6 trillion won for R&D.
