Samsung Announces 4th Gen Green Memory Solution

Samsung just announced a new green memory solution comprising of a DDR3 RAM and SSD at the Memory Solution CIO Forum 2012 in South Korea.

Both DDR3 memory and SSD are based on 20nm-class with SSDs supporting SATA 6.0Gb/s (SM843) for server system and SAS interface (SM1625) for enterprise storage.

Samsung also claims this solution when used in a datacenter, the overall performance is increased by six times while power consumption decreases by 20 percent on servers and 60 percent on storage in comparison with 40nm-class DRAM and HDD.
