As promised last month, Samsung has expanded its enterprise SSD range with industry’s first 2.5-inch NVMe (NVM Express) PCIe based SSD – XS1715. The drive has a storage space of up to 1.6TB and offers a sequential read speed of up to 3000MB/s, which Samsung says can process 500GB of data in under three minutes.
Up to six times faster than Samsung’s previous enterprise SSD solution, the new SSD’s random read IOPS is 740,000.
The NVMe SSD XS1715 will come in capacities of 400GB, 800GB and 1.6TB.
Samsung also announced a consumer-centric 840 EVO 1TB SSD today.
