Dyson sues Samsung for its Vacuum Cleaner design

September 11, 2013 By kunal 1 Comment

motion-sync

UK-based Dyson has filed a complaint against Samsung for its newly announced Motion Sync vacuum cleaner. Dyson claims Samsung’s latest cleaning product uses steering mechanism similar to the one Dyson patented in 2009.

Announced at IFA, Samsung says the Motion Sync vacuum cleaner’s canister body swivels separately from the wheels that allows faster and better maneuverability.

While Dyson’s founder, James Dyson claims it as a “cynical rip-off”, Samsung’s spokeswoman refutes the allegations saying it “is an outcome of our extensive research and development”.

In 2009, Samsung and Dyson fought in court where Dyson was awarded £600,000 for Samsung’s use of patented suction technology.

I checked the products also. They look similar. Let’s wait for court’s verdict
