Samsung Display reportedly showed a 5.68-inch foldable display prototype at CES

January 13, 2014 By kunal 2 Comments

Samsung YOUM Flexible Display

At an event during CES, Samsung purportedly, showed off their foldable display prototype to select executives and customers. This piece of news comes from Korea-based ETNews who claims that Samsung Display was the first one to showcase and is now one step closer to commercialise the display.

At the Samsung Analyst Day in last November, Samsung had promised to bring foldable display in 2015.

According to the report, the foldable panel was a 5.68-inch AMOLED display using plastic substrate.

Foldable displays will enable larger-sized displays in a compact size and even help increase the durability of the displays, which are often the most expensive component in a mobile device.

If not the Galaxy Note 4 in October 2014 then definitely the Note 5 come 2015. Either way these things are well on it’s way. Plain and simple nothing beats Samsung period.

They did this exact same thing last year, and you “knew” it would be in the S4. What a joke.
