It was in September last year when we first heard about Samsung’s intentions of developing a Tizen TV and they’ve inched a closer to their goal with the release of Tizen-based Samsung TV SDK. Marking it as an industry’s first, the beta SDK will be available to developers in early July and Samsung will most likely showcase it at the upcoming Developer Conference.

The Tizen-based Samsung TV SDK Beta supports the HTML5 standard through the Caph framework and enables developers to write apps for Tizen OS-based TV.

Some of the SDK features include interface for virtual TV apps development that allows developers to see all TV functions without a physical TV; developers can remotely modify code on their PCs with the new debugging feature and more.

The Tizen Developer Conference will start from June 2 in San Francisco.
