840 EVO SSD

Samsung’s 840 EVO series SSDs are facing a peculiar problem that affects the read speed of the SSD. According to a forum thread, a bug present in the 840 EVO causes the read performance of the drive to drop drastically and it affects only the blocks that have data older than a month. Good thing is that Samsung has discovered the issue and is working to provide a firmware update to all 840 EVO SSD users. There’s no specific timeline but it will expectedly be released as soon as possible.
