October 17, 2014 By kunal Leave a Comment

840 EVO SSD

We first caught wind of 840 EVO SSD’s read speed issue last month and now Samsung, true to their word has released a firmware update to fix the performance issue. 840 EVO SSD users can download the fix from Samsung’s website and as Anand Tech points out, the fix is more than a firmware update since the tool rewrites some data to regain the original performance.

The Performance Restoration Software looks like an easy-to-use tool and currently works only with Windows with Mac and Linux supported fixes are expected by end of this month.
