Samsung has faced some criticism on how they handled the Galaxy Note7 recall but it seems the Galaxy Note7 woes don’t seem to end. The Verge reports a Southwest Airlines flight Baltimore was evacuated while the plane was still at the gate. The reason behind the evacuation was the smoke emanating from a Galaxy Note7 and to make matters worse, it was the ‘safe’ marked unit.
While Samsung is waiting to procure the unit from the airline, website spoke to the device owner and ran their own investigation to confirm that the unit was indeed replaced. Safe Galaxy Note7 phones have a black square symbol on the box and even the website states that the device is not affected.
CPSC, a government agency that handles recalls of products in the United States is also investigating the incident.
Last week, Samsung confirmed that over 60 percent of Galaxy Note7 users have exchanged their devices in the United States and South Korea.
