If Samsung’s acquisition of Viv wasn’t a clear cut confirmation, Samsung has confirmed to Reuters that their upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone will feature an AI digital assistant service. The service will understandably make use of Viv’s solution which, in the future, will be expanded to other Samsung devices like home appliances and wearables.

Samsung is keeping minute details for the big reveal next year but confirmed the AI assistant will allow users to use third-party services once developers “attach and upload” it to their agent.

Samsung has previously dabbled with assistant service in the form of S Voice but has not been up to the mark when compared to Apple’s Siri.
